Singing Lessons

By booking a lesson or package with Lila Swain, you agree to these terms. If the student is under 18, a parent or guardian makes the booking and agrees to these terms for them.

1. 01

   Booking and payment

   • All lessons and packages are paid in full when you book through my online booking page.
   • Lessons take place at my home studio. I’ll send you the address once your booking is confirmed.
2. 02

   Cancelling or rescheduling

   • You can reschedule or cancel a lesson free of charge with at least 24 hours’ notice.
   • If you give less than 24 hours’ notice, or don’t turn up, the lesson is forfeited and not refunded or rescheduled. That time was set aside for you, and I usually can’t fill it at short notice.
   • If you’re unwell, please don’t come to a lesson, even at short notice. Let me know as early as you can. I’ll offer one make-up lesson per package for illness at my discretion.

   Late arrivals

   • If you arrive late, the lesson still finishes at the scheduled time so the next student isn’t kept waiting.
   • If I’m running late, you’ll still get your full lesson time.
4. 04

   Cancellations by me

   • If I need to cancel a lesson, for example because I’m sick, I’ll give you as much notice as possible and we’ll book a make-up lesson at a time that suits us both.
   • If we can’t find a suitable time within 4 weeks, I’ll refund that lesson.

   Lesson packages

   • The 5-lesson package must be used within 3 months of purchase, and the 10-lesson package within 6 months.
   • Lessons left unused after the expiry date are forfeited. Packages are non-refundable and non-transferable, unless I cancel lessons as described in section 04.
   • Package prices are discounted, so they can’t be swapped for single lessons at a different rate.
6. 06

   Students under 18

   • A parent or guardian must drop off and collect the student on time.
   • Please let me know about anything that may affect the student’s lesson, such as health conditions, additional needs or anxiety, so I can support them properly.
7. 07

   Health and voice care

   • Singing is physical. Please tell me about any vocal, breathing or other health issues before lessons start.
   • My lessons teach healthy vocal technique, but they are not medical or speech-therapy advice. If you have ongoing voice problems, please see a doctor or speech pathologist.
8. 08

   Recordings and media

   • Recordings made in lessons or in “Record a song!” sessions are for the student’s personal use.
   • I won’t share recordings, photos or videos of any student online or in my marketing without written permission, and for under-18s that means a parent or guardian’s permission.
   • I keep the right to use recordings to demonstrate my teaching, but only with permission.
9. 09

   Respect and safety

   • I’m committed to providing a safe, supportive and respectful learning space. I may end lessons with a student whose behaviour is consistently disrespectful or unsafe, and I’ll refund any lessons not yet used.
10. 10

    Changes to these terms

    • I may update these terms from time to time. The version on my website when you book is the one that applies.

    Your rights

    • Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law.
